Today we say welcome to EntryScape 3.1! In this release, we welcome the new Data Templates feature to the world and can start to quickly edit multiple metadata fields more easily thanks to the first version of Table View in the EntryScape Catalog!
Last month we released EntryScape 3.0 and this month we are releasing a new minor version update. In this version there are the following major changes.
Added
– First version of Data Templates
– Table view to change multiple metadata fields at once
– Notification system (so-called snackbars, common in the Material UI design language)
– Global handling of error messages
– Suggestions now visible in data set overview
– Limiting presented statistics to cover only most used files and APIs
What are data templates?
Data templates are an exciting new feature that we are rolling out to customers as needed during development. The feature saves you a lot of time in e.g. municipalities by doing a lot of the work for you when you need to create, prepare and publish a data set. With Data Templates, you get different templates for datasets that are already published in other municipalities, regions, authorities and public companies and these templates already have a lot of fields filled in that you would otherwise have to spend time describing. That is, the only descriptions that need to be customized are those that are unique to your organization. With data templates, you can prepare, describe and publish datasets that have already been verified or can be published as open data in a fraction of the time it would otherwise take.
What is table view?
Table View helps you easily view and edit descriptions for multiple datasets at once. You can configure which columns of your descriptions you want to display, and you can limit yourself to a few or display them all – it’s up to you. You use the EntryScape Catalog, look at the list of datasets, and then click Table View – and presto, you have the ability to quickly edit multiple fields for your descriptions en masse!
