We are happy to announce EntryScape version 3.6! In this version, EntryScape gets better at handling terminologies and imports them better with extended functionality. Those who work with WMS services and visualizations of these can also look forward to more order and clarity in how their layers are displayed.

EntryScape version 3.6 is now available! EntryScape is an open source software for smart information management such as open data, shared data, internal data and documents. EntryScape is available as open source. Since 2014, EntryScape has evolved to become the market-leading solution for metadata, open data and shared data in Sweden.

As EntryScape grows in use and MetaSolutions grows, we are publishing more information about how EntryScape is evolving. Here’s what’s new in this release:

Improved import of terminologies
The import in EntryScape Terms of terminologies using SKOS is now improved and it is possible to restrict the use to extend existing terminologies only.

Editing terminologies that only allow extensions
Imagine that you only want to build on a terminology. For example, if you import Svenska Akademiens Ordlista (SAOL) or Svenska Akademiens Ordbok (SAOB) as a SKOS terminology, you can now restrict it on import so that you can only create enhancements and not make changes to the original terminology. For example, you would then only be able to add related slang or dialectal words but not change what was there before.

Link to Service Desk for technical errors directly in menu
When you are logged in to EntryScape, you have another link you can access via the user icon. It is a link that opens your e-mail program to send a help request to the EntryScape Service Desk. You can still always email the EntryScape Service Desk when you get technical errors.

For other operational issues, you can contact the EntryScape Community as usual here.

Terminologies can read labels from external source
EntryScape Terms can now read labels from external sources. This only applies if the terminology supports this.

Update restricted terminology from source
Have you imported your terminology from an external source? Do you have limited extension possibilities locally but want to be able to update locally? Great, now it also works so that you can keep your own extensions but still get an updated glossary from the external source!
