EntryScape is now released in version 3.7! This version makes it easier to keep track of datasets by allowing you to reorder and filter them based on whether they are published or not and whether they are published as open data or internal data for your organization’s own use. There are also a lot of improvements with visualizations and a completely redesigned handling of collections of concepts.
We start 2023 with EntryScape version 3.7! EntryScape is an open software for smart information management such as metadata, open data, shared data, internal data and geodata. EntryScape is open source. Since 2014, EntryScape has evolved to become the market-leading solution for metadata, open data and shared data in Sweden.
As EntryScape continues to grow and evolve, the lead developers MetaSolutions tell us more about how it is developing. Here’s an update on what’s been happening:
Filtering through datasets
Users have asked to be able to find their way around datasets more easily. Now the filtering is finally here! But the coolest part is that the list can be filtered based on whether you want to see datasets that are published or not. You can also filter based on whether they are published for external harvesting or for your local data portal!
Reorder the list based on change
Do you have many entities listed in your EntryScape? Well done! When a user browses datasets in a catalog, it is now possible to rearrange the order of the list based on modification date. Easier to find the right one. Of course, you can still search for it – if you know the name of what you are looking for!
Visualization improvements with CSV and WMS
With 3.7, you can title maps generated based on CSV files with WGS84 coordinates. You can also title the CSV map to tell you what is displayed. Time to make your mark on the world and not hide what you want to show!
Add a legend to your maps
Isn’t it nice to have information boards that have a legend and tell you what’s what of what you see on a map? With EntryScape 3.7, a legend explaining what is shown on the map is now possible. Hopefully this will help more people find more and find their way! Clever, isn’t it?
EntryScape Terms has been greatly improved
Do you like Wordfeud, Wordle or the Swedish Academy Glossary? Then you’ve come to the right place! EntryScape Terms has been given a major overhaul to make it easier to manage the collections you’re dealing with. It’s about time you could collect your favorite terms and link them from other terminologies to others for your use. Whether you organize concepts linked from the EU or add them to a collection yourself, life will be easier for you.
New map libraries and corrections
EntryScape now uses the OpenLayers map library instead of Leaflet – a nice improvement if you like to visualize your data for others with maps. Finally, entities with long titles are also line-breaking in the right place in the list view. Also, the checklist is saved properly. Check it out!
