Below are some of the enhancements in EntryScapes 3.8 – including better map visualizations, support for new EntryScape Solutions, better password management, and support for different types of projects.
Enhanced CSV – visualization in map objects
Several EntryScape users have already started using map visualizations. This works data sharing when the user uploaded a CSV in EntryScape. This simply means, that when you click on map objects in CSV visualizations, properties of the object are displayed. Now it’s easier for data consumers to see, read and learn about your visualized data – for example, swimming spots!
Support for EntryScape Solutions
EntryScape 3.8 simplifies the adaptation to different types of solutions that can help you in your management of metadata and data. For example, it will be easier to get started with DCAT-AP data publishing, INSPIRE/NMDP4 geospatial data publishing or internal data sharing accessible only to employees. Other examples are document management and tourism data publication to Visit Sweden’s new data hub for all tourism data in Sweden.
Your password policy can now apply across EntryScape
If your organization has a password policy, it can now be enforced throughout EntryScape. So what does this mean? Well, it simply means that if your organization has a password policy, it can be enabled in EntryScape. Common routines for passwords are requirements for length and amount of letters, special characters and numbers. However, a tip from us is to consider the possibility, which customers have, to run Single-Sign-On (SSO) according to the SAML2 standard.
Why is it good to implement your organization’s password policy in EntryScape?
If the policy is not applied in the software, it is possible for employees to use non-compliant passwords. This can make the organization more vulnerable to attacks.
The extension makes it easier to create a strong password. The software can suggest passwords that meet the policy requirements.
Administration is reduced. If the policy can be applied in the software, the IT department does not need to manually check passwords, which can save time and resources.
Support for project type management
EntryScape is now supported to be easily set up for standardized solutions for metadata and linked data. Now, those very trusted users who are administrators will be able to configure different types of metadata management. For example, your organization can set up an open data catalogue for DCAT-AP and another geodata catalogue for INSPIRE/NMDP.
