SKL, The Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions choose EntryScape Catalog for Open Data
With the aim to establish a process to publish Open Data and make data available on the national Swedish and the European Open Data portal, SKL choose to work with MetaSolutions and EntryScape Catalog.
SKL wanted to get started quickly and already a few weeks from start they had published multiple datasets using the EntryScape Catalog. At the same time they had also implemented a solid process for data collection and publishing of Open Data.
“We can now work systematically with Open Data. From data collection to publishing of data. We must practice what we preach, now we have a good tool for this.”
Anders Nordh, Project Manager, department for digitization, SKL
The City of Gothenburg
Gothenburg is Sweden´s second largest city, with over 500 thousand inhabitants and 1.1 million in the region. Being a port city, Gothenburg has always served on openness and exchange with others. Having this in mind it is no surprise that the city is now putting great focus on Open Data.
In 2016 the city implemented EntryScape Catalog for publishing of Open Data. The main objectives was to establish a platform where datasets were correctly described, following DCAT-AP standards to optimize the distribution. A turnkey solution was an important criterion in the choice of systems.
“When we chose EntryScape Catalog from Meta Solutions, we also chose the platform that best supports standards and where the development also is influenced by Swedish players. This was important for us.”
Kim Lantto,development, City of Gothenburg
MetaSolutions delivered training and advice to Umeå kommun on linked open data. Umeå kommun is also a user of DCAT-AP manager (the predecessor of EntryScape Catalog) for DCAT-AP descriptions.
