DCAT-AP is a specification for describing datasets based on the W3C Recommendation Data Catalog Vocabulary (DCAT). Open Knowledge and MetaSolutions have been working on a new version of the Swedish national open data portal öppnadata.se which will, among other things, automatically harvest dataset descriptions from all Swedish public organizations. In consequence, data publishers must provide their metadata according to DCAT-AP in order to get their datasets presented at the national portal.
MetaSolutions created the tool DCAT-AP manager with the goal of increasing the acceptance of DCAT-AP and aiding data publishers in producing standard-conform dataset descriptions. We provide the tool free of charge at the URL https://dcat-editor.com/manager/. Anyone is welcome to sign-up and create DCAT-AP metadata.
The tool is being developed with support from Sweden’s innovation agency VINNOVA; the source code is licensed as Open Source and published on GitHub. Any feedback, issue requests and bug reports are welcome, preferrably through the GitHub issue tracker or by sending an e-mail to email@example.com.
