Nobel Media AB, the company responsible for media rights for the Nobel Prize, and MetaSolutions AB have been awarded a project grant from the open data initiative by VINNOVA, the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems. See also detailed information about the call (in Swedish) and the press release from Nobel Media.

The project will focus on publishing Linked Open Data about the Nobel Prizes. With the primary target group being high school students, it is important to put the information on into a bigger context by referring to other information sources. The project will build upon metadata that already exist in some form on and create relationships between internal and external data sources using Semantic Web technologies.

The joint project will be launched in August and more information will be released as the work progresses.
